Artist Statement, Bio & CV 2026

Marja Eugeni

Statement updated 18 May 2026

I am a multidisciplinary artist

working in drawing, oil painting, watercolour, acrylic,

print making, mud rock, crocheting sculptures and writing poems. I am inspired about everything

starting from natures life circles, all the animals, colours, elements, emotions, patterns and

textures. I am interested in uncountable themes and subjects to feed my brain up and to inform

my experimentations with different materials to express my own visual language. It is

important to me because I want to reflect and understand the world around me and myself

inside of it. Often my creative endeavours are based on the urge to let out my emotional state

to feel lighter afterwards. It is a lifetime to feed my soul, and I can’t live without art, just like

a fish can’t live without water. I create process-led sometimes starting with an idea but other

times not knowing what I am doing. I simply follow my intuition while the painting or the

sculpture reveals itself like a book that I can read.

Victoria Clair and my brother motivated me to create soft sculptures so that blind communities

can experience art through touch. I feel connected by many Contemporary artists as of why

they create their work such as Anselm Kiefer, Thiago Barbalho, Caitlin McCormack, Rachel

Goodyear, Santiago Yahuarcani, Rember Yahuarcani, Dan Brault, Alex Grey, Emma Talbot

and many others.
